APC reacts to Benue killings, laments leadership inability to act

The Benue Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has described the Tuesday attack on a Catholic Church where two priests and 17 worshippers were killed as an act of terrorism.

The Party in a statement signed by its Director of Publicity, Peterhot Apeh on Wednesday disclosed that the plans of the herdsmen militia was to wipe out Benue people.

They described the attack on the place of worship as barbaric and an attempt to challenge God by killing his anointed servants.

He further called on the Federal government and security agencies to act and arrest those behind the attack.

The statement read in part: “Let me say categorically here, that this is another moment of grief in Benue state. I am speechless. I am worried that this thing is happening at a time that our party is running the government of this nation.

“The situation is barbaric, uncalled for and unacceptable because it can be likened to insurgency. The Government must act fast to address the situation.”
