Checkout Scene From Japan Baby Crying Contest

There is a Crying Baby Contest (Naki Sumo) that holds in Japan every year. This year, the competition held at the Shinto shrine in Yokohama, near Tokyo on Monday July 17th.

The contest pairs up little toddlers with sumo wrestlers who will attempt to get the babies to cry. The toddler who cries the longest and loudest is crowned the winner.

As bizarre as it may be, the crying baby contest has been practised by Japenese indigenes for well over 400 years. Japanese parents voluntarily bring their babies to the contest, and truly believe that sumo-induced crying keeps their children in good health.
