Kaduna rescheduled LG polls: What APC is doing to get votes – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Kaduna State chapter, has alleged that some All Progressives Congress, APC bigwigs in the state are threatening traditional rulers and teachers with sack notice if they do not support and vote the APC in the 6th June, 2018 rescheduled local government election.

Abraham Alberah Catoh, PDP State Publicity Secretary in a statement said, “It has come to our notice that some APC bigwigs in Kaura local government and other parts of the state have been threatening our traditional rulers and teachers with sack notice if they don’t support and vote the APC.

“We take exception to that, we are encouraging our teeming supporters to ignore such threats, as it doesn’t hold any water, they should vote for their choiced party as nobody can sack them unduly especially at this time of our political history, as a democratic nation, without adhering to laid down rules.

“We shall take legal actions against these unscrupulous politicians, should they continue with these threats. We wish to call on these elements to desist from such undemocratic tendencies.

“We are also calling on all our supporters to remain calm and law abiding ,but steadfast even in the face of adversity, and also make sure they report to SIECOM and security agents of any trouble maker .

“They should vote and remain at the polling units and Ward collation centers while the election results are announced, before they escort the SIECOM Ad-hoc staff and the results announced at the polling units and Ward Collation Centres to the Local Government Collation Centres, signed by all parties and security agents at the collation centres.”

The PDP called on its supporters across the 5 local governments areas of Jaba, Kaura, Kajuru, Chikun and Kaduna South to come out en masse and vote for the PDP in the 6th June, 2018 rescheduled elections, just like they supported and voted for the party in the cancelled 12th May, 2018 elections.
