Senator Bwacha reveals how Nigeria police endangered his life, withdrew officers attached to him midway

Senator Emmanuel Bwacha representing Taraba South has revealed that the police officers who followed him to Jos on Thursday were withdrawn midway into the journey, thereby putting him to danger of attacks.

Speaking at the plenary on Wednesday, he explained that the police officers following him to Jos on Thursday received orders from the DPO attached to the Senate to withdraw and report to the nearest police station wherever they were.

He said President Buhari might not be aware that democracy was collapsing under his watch, stating that there was need for the Senate to see him.

“Mr President, distinguished colleagues, on Thursday last week, I wrote officially for police officers to accost me to Jos. But surprisingly, as we were close to Jos, a call came from the DPO here in the Senate withdrawing them.”

“The instruction was that they should report to the nearest police station and I became afraid. ”

“My distinguished colleagues, I had to let them go before I drove off in fear so that they don’t know my whereabouts.”

“There is need for the senate to see Mr. President to tell him that democracy is collapsing under his watch.”

Bwacha further explained that he was being maltreated as a result of a statement he made where he said “it was wrong for the Inspector General of Police to refuse invitation by the Senate.”
