The Chairman, Senate Committee on Navy, Senator Isah Misau, has blamed politicians for Nigeria’s problems.
He spoke on Wednesday during the inauguration of the Nigerian Navy Military School, Ikot-Ntuen, Oruk Anam Local Government Area, of Akwa Ibom State.
Misau lamented that “politicians withdraw themselves from the people that elected them into office”.
The lawmaker said challenges will continue to increase if those who should be the voice of the masses abandoned them to their fate.
He urged politicians to learn from military, which works with the people, irrespective of tribe or religion to attain the country’s oneness, and do not care where their personal aides or assistants hail from.
Misau said he was proud as chairman of Senate Committee of the Nigerian Navy.
In his remarks, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas, said the school is the latest collaboration between the state and the Nigerian Navy.
He added that the institution was modelled to offer secondary education in a naval environment.
