The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma, on Wednesday disclosed that the National Assembly was yet to transmit the 2018 Appropriation Bill that was passed into law last week to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent.
Udoma made the disclosure while addressing State House Correspondents shortly after the weekly meeting of Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
He stated that the President will “very quickly” work on the budget when transmitted to him.
His words, “The President is yet to receive the budget. It is, therefore, impossible to make a statement about the budget that has not been received.
“Once we get it, we will work very quickly on it.
“When it is submitted, I am sure the National Assembly themselves will inform Nigerians.”
The Senate had last week passed the 2018 Appropriation Bill six months after its presentation by the President.
