Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Abia state have lauded the peaceful conduct of the local government congresses held in the state on Saturday.
APC had on Saturday held its local government congresses across the 774 council areas in the federation.
Speaking to DAILY POST, after the exercise, Chief Chris Akomas, who is a delegate and member, Board of Trustees (BoT)) of the APC, expressed satisfaction on the the peaceful conduct of the election.
Akomas, who was a former deputy governor in Abia, thanked the leaders, the delegates and other members of the party for their discipline and collaboration exhibited in ensuring the success of success in Obingwa.
“I hope that by working together we will march into Abia Government House,Umuahia, come 2019″, he said.
Also, a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Acho Obioma expressed happiness for the peaceful conduct of the election in Umuahia South.
Obioma, who is a chieftain of the party, thanked the security apparatus, for ensuring peace and security during the election.
Ambassador Chidike Ukauwa, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the party, expressed satisfaction on the conduct of the local government congress in the state.
According to Ukauwa,” I must sincerely commend the congress committee for showing transparency in the discharge of their duty.
“The congress was peaceful. The delegates comported themselves. As far as Abia is concerned, APC has come to stay in the state”.
