Ex-Jonathan’s aide, Omokri reacts as Buhari cancels May 29 Democracy Day

Reno Omokri, former President Goodluck Jonathan’s aide has reacted to the new democracy date announced by the Federal Government (FG).

DAILY POST recalls that the FG on Wednesday announced June 12 as the new date for Nigeria’s Democracy celebration.

The date was changed to honour late MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.

However, reacting to the development, Omokri said Buhari “is a joker”, adding that the President was desperate for Southwest to vote for him in 2019 general election.

The former Presidential aide on Twiter wrote: “President @Mbuhari is a joke. In desperation for the Southwest vote, he has declared June 12, Democracy Day a d given MKO Abiola a post humous GCFR.

“What hypocrisy! This was a man who served Abacha while Abacha jailed Abiola. This was a man who praised Abacha, Abiola’s jailer!”.
